I have a large scar. It's distinctive features and sheer magnitude draws everyone's attention. I can't escape it. People watch me. They stare. I try to hide, to run, but it is always spotted.

The pain it brings me is unbearable. Days and nights, I cower in my room afraid of being seen, of it being seen. But people always know. It represents who I am. It's not just part of me, but is me. And I smell. I cause noses to be scrunched. Eyes to be diverted. Sadness. Depression. Pain.

I was broke. I needed to make money soon or I was going to lose my home. My neighbor had money he had just inherited from his grandmother. Real money. Big money.

I killed him.

It remains with me.
