STORY STARTER

A fairytale character is dropped into this world.

How do they react? What do they find most difficult?

Strange Appearances

It was strange; from there moment Snow White had woken from her sleep she was surrounded by a different scenery. The forest she had grown accustomed to had vanished over night, replaced by a city. Buildings lined the busy streets, buildings Snow White was sure weren’t there when she rested her head on her pillow.

The streets were full of a type of moving carriage. Some white, some black, some red, and some a strange blue color. Snow White stood, staring out her window. Except even the window looked different. It wasn’t _her_ window. She turned and looked around at the apartment she stood in.

The bed was a good deal smaller than it had been, the furniture a complete different color. Where was she? Why was she here? The color of the curtains were a pale green, making her think of the colors of the trees back at home. Wherever that shall be.

The streets were even louder than she had thought they would be. The strange carriages made an awful sound, making Snow White cover her ears instinctively. People walked past her, bumping her slightly without a single word of apologies. People back in her homeland would cower with worry, fearing they might get punished for bumping her shoulder. She didn’t like that people feared her, but it was a thing that she couldn’t control. She liked people bumping her without a small, “sorry,” even less.

Snow White wandered the streets, pushing past tall and wide people. They were dressed in clothes she had never seen before. One man was wearing a pair of pink dress pants and a cropped pink blazer. Another girl was wearing a short emerald dress that barely reached her knees.

“Excuse me,” Snow White tapped the most decent looking person she saw. The lady she tapped was older. She had grey hair, wrinkled skin, and a pair of glasses that were too thick for her face. The old woman wore a dress that resembled Snow White’s. “Would you know what realm I have stumbled into? I have woken up in a strange home, not my home. I shall return home, if you shall tell me where we are.”

The lady’s face looked as if it opened slightly. Her eyes were wide, and her skin looked slightly less wrinkled. “You are Snow White, correct?”

Snow White nodded, not understanding how this old lady knew her name. “I am sorry, have we met?”

The lady shook her head, a smile stretching across her face. “No, we have not met. At least not in this lifetime. However, I know you more than you think.”

Snow White lowered her eyebrows, thinking hard on the old lady’s words. What did she mean? She knew Snow White? How? Snow White certainly didn’t know her. “Shall I be allowed to learn your name?”

The lady nodded. “My name, though you must think of me to be insane, is Snow White. I am you.”
