STORY STARTER
Write a scene in which two characters have very different emotions about the same thing.
E.g. One character could be very happy after finding something out, whilst the other is sad about it.
Asked Out
NOOR
"So, are you free after next class?" Rehan asks.
I have to force myself to hide the big fat grin threatening to show on my face. "Yeah, sure!"
Rehan smiles. "Great," he nods. "I’ll catch you later then?"
"Sounds good," I nod and watch him walk away.
I turn my back to him and silently squeal.
Rehan just asked me out! Finally! It’s been two weeks since we started seriously talking.
AYAN
I walk over to Noor with Hassan when I notice her silently celebrating. "The princess looks awfully happy."
"Rehan asks me out!" Noor bounces.
My smile falters. "Oh?"
Hassan elbows me and I straighten up again and plaster my smile back on. "That’s great, Noor," Hassan says.
"Yep," I agree through my clenched teeth. "Wonderful."
