POEM STARTER
Write a poem that centers around the question: Why do some seek out blood and others seek to heal?
One Dead, One Limping
Snarling as I flash my teeth
Biting down on the hands that feed
Blood splatters follow me
Wailing that others will bleed
A fix for the night will leave me nice
A fix for the night will leave me violent when the sun is bright
Has the past overtaken my autonomy
Did my unforgotten truths take hold of my beliefs
Were my early memories the reason I lay in defeat
There are people with fangs lodged in their heads
But they’re not aggressive
They smile lovingly
They learned how to break their treacherous habits
Now, blood doesn’t drip down their knees
