After the storm

We’re left withered and cold

Shell schocked and soaked to the bone

We stand their shoulder by shoulder

Shivering beneath a wind that has ceased howling

And clouds that begin to drift apart

After the storm

When my tears cease

And where back on a queen sized bed

One which we never left

Looking out into the bedroom window

Sitting beside me in the same silence that comes

After a storm, hoping to provide comfort

A hand on my leg, not staring right at my face

Just being as I try to live beyound my words

We sit in harmonious silence, reeling after my turn
