You Are My One And Only
**I wrote this poem off of a prompt of my own creation, so if you use this prompt, please credit me for the prompt.**
**Prompt: Use repetition to mimic obsession - let a single phrase or image echo throughout your poem to reflect the inescapability of longing.**
You are my
One and only,
The love of my life,
My love is sharp,
Sharp as a knife.
_I need you more _
_Than I need air,_
_To be without you,_
_I can not bear._
You are my
One and only,
The one who
Hold the key
To my locked-up,
Chained-up,
Half-broken
Heart.
You are my
One and only,
My light
In the dark.
_Without you,_
_I can not see,_
_So please come here _
_And save me._
You are my
One and only
Escape
From reality.
__
__
_So come with me,_
_I’ll treasure and cherish you_
__
_For as long as you can see!_
You are my
One and only,
The brightest star
In _my_ sky.
_You are a star,_
_One only I_
_Should be _
_Allowed to see._
You are my
One and only
Addiction.
You are my
One and only
Drug.
__
_So hold me close,_
_Hold me tight,_
_And maybe, just maybe,_
_You’ll make it through the night._
