The Lion’s Den

Walking with no end, the man ended up stumbling into a cave, where he did enter. The allure of the cave had called to him, something about the jagged icy formations that littered cold stone walls.

He’d smile at the water that flowed about him, the rain had made its appearance. Forgetting his numbered days in the greater world, he would spend the next few moments to just relax, placing himself upon a boulder, around the size of the cub born from a great feline from the world he had been apart of.

They were had been known as lions, so mighty in their day in age. Sadly they had gone extinct some thirty years ago. Perhaps one day they would make their return…

Gene editing was all the rage in this day, and they had brought back many extinct species from ages long past. Somehow the conservation efforts proved futile for the lion, who were once considered the first among the beasts.

This man’s grandfather would tell them stories of a great lion whom he had killed in the ancient sands of Africa. Twas a mighty foe twice a man’s height from head to tail.

Remiscent of the days that that he was so careless, he would retract his smile, and his mood somber he would exit the cave perhaps to return one day.
