I creep out to the fence, the one thing that separates Soldia and Monnoite. The single object that separates me from Jay, or at least that’s what our parents think. The forest that surrounds the forest is thick and dense with old trees some looming a hundred feet above, the good thing about that is it’s hard to find someone in, the bad thing about the forest is the fact that it’s hard to find someone in. Confusing, until you try to weave your way through the trees and bushes to find a specific tree that is just perfectly placed for you to jump over the electrified barbed wire fence without getting caught. I make it to the fence and start to climb thr rough trunk of the old sturdy oak. I perch myself on a thick limb that hangs over Monnoite, then I wait. There’s a rustling on the forest floor and I slowly look down keeping myself hidden behind the leaves. The figure moves to sit under a willow parallel to the electrical fence. Jay. I leap from the branch and half skip half stride over to him. Everything about us is opposites, where I am from the kingdom of light, he is from the kingdom of dark. Our families have been fighting since… well forever. He has dark black hair which contrasts to his pale skin and brown eyes, he’s beautiful. I am the opposite bright golden hair, tan skin, and green eyes, where his features are sharp mine are soft, where mine are bright his are dark, but none of it really matters when because all is fair in war and love.
