Today was the day.

The day of the Presidential Debate.

Thousands of people had come to watch, and millions more watched from their TV screens.

Today, Eva Bouc Émissaire was debating against William L. Iar at Columbia University.

Eva had been preparing her entire life for this moment. She and Mr. Iar walked up to their podiums as the crowd errupted into roars of applause.

As she gazed into the crowd, she felt a sense of pride seeing all the people with hats and flags and shirts supporting her.

She smiled brightly and waved, taking a small, brief glance at her opponent.

Mr. Iar had a sinister look on his face. One that sent chills down Eva’s spine. She’s seen him before, and something about that man just… wasn’t right. He had this air about him. A glint in his eye every since Eva had met him.

And she couldn’t help but feel… it was for her.

She cleared her throat and turned back to look at the crowd, who had calmed down to listen to their future presidents speak.

Eva closed her eyes and let out a breath.

But as she opened her eyes again, the crowd had changed. She began to speak.

“My fellow Americans…” The crowd was beginning to look off to Eva. Suddenly, there were far less supporters for her then when they’d begun this. And people were now looking.. angry at her.

Eva felt her voice threatened to shake but she held strong.

“I am so privileged to be up here today, and to potentially call myself your President. Th-The people of the United States of America have always had such a bright future, and—“

Eva stopped and turned her head to look at Mr. Iar, who was looking right back at her. But something wasn’t right.

There was screaming and gasps from the crowd, and as Eva looked back at them, there was a large crow perched on her podium.

But how…? She didn’t see or hear any crows!!

The world went silent as Eva looked back out at the crowd, speechless as suddenly everyone in the crowd took out their guns and pointed them at her.

But William was the one who shot Eva point blank in the head.

The debate was ended, and William. L. Iar was declared president of the United States of America.
