Underland
Underland is a world far from here,
The realm of all your biggest fears.
Underland is a scary place,
With a strange old man with a strange old face.
Underland is not a home,
It’s somewhere you feel most alone.
Underland is not like here,
You can hear the shadows as they draw near.
Underland is a wound, torn raw,
A memory of the gore you saw.
Underland is a buried memory,
Something you wish not to see.
Underland is a fairy tale,
Where the fairy’s a foe and the heroes all fail.
Underland is a broken, twisted wood,
An echo of where your protectors once stood.
Underland is far closer than you think.
Its your mind in a pool where it can’t help but sink.
You can’t find it on a map, or written in ink.
It’s darkness in a cup you do not want to drink.
It’s deep in your soul, comes and goes in a wink.
Something lurking in the shadows, you’ll miss it if you blink.
So don’t close your eyes.
You don’t want this surprise.
It’s full of terrors and horrors and lies.
Beasts surround you like flies.
The sun never will rise.
It’s where all your love, dies.
Lights out, fireflies.
Underland is a world far from here,
The realm of all your biggest fears.
It’s far away, but know this, my dear,
Underland, has all along been
Right here.
