My Typewriter
I have a broken typewriter
The kind that’s hard to fix
The letters are there but the words don’t seem to fit
Everyone says my typewriter is the best
Because the keys are fine it’s the paper that’s a wreck
What’s worst about my typewriter
The fact that does exist
Is that it won’t exit from its spot, it stays right where it is
The ink bleeds through the stubborn page
Wishing it could escape this dark age
The ink breaks the paper and I wish that I could fix it
But now my piece is stuck and it won’t say “good riddance.”
The worst part is
I’m out of paper
So this page is my last and it feels like a faker
It doesn’t want to move on no matter what I say
Will I always be stuck this way?
