POEM STARTER
Playing With Fire.
Write a poem which uses this as the central theme.
Born Of Fire
Separation from the father is the first wound
The eruption that brings us into being
To heal the root of our belonging
We must join the eternal tribe of the freeing
The wound of the mother comes next
Our pain pushed into the world, to cut our tether
To recover from the water, to breathe our own air
We must transform, from amphibian to feather
We wear the mask to hide the third wound
Ego is the face we show to hide our tears
If yet we can shine as more than just one star
Our constellation protects us from our fears
Along the river of life we seek refuge in others
As wealth and worldly pleasures value wanes
This is the wound where love and peace may heal
Where others fail, a wisdom of the heart remains
When we understand and find our voice
Our purpose lights our chosen path
Fate will guide us as we write, pray and chant
To overcome ourselves and forgive our worldly wrath
Enlightenment comes from our surrender
In the darkness, lost, we can come to see
The ache of wanting ceases, so our vision increases
Unbound, we’ve found our soul was always free
Now that we can feel the connectedness in all
We may flow, no longer possessed by desire
Magical time marches on, relentless in its call
To be born, to live and love, is playing with fire.
