POEM STARTER
Submitted by Cheyenne King
Describe a moment in life which seems to last forever.
You could write this as a poem or story, or as a descriptive paragraph.
sinking
you were a photograph
i was a vision
i sat there as the image cured.
you were an anchor,
i was a lowly sailor.
the horizon was set too far for now
you know the sea has a way of washing it all away.
the past and the present
the future anyway.
heartbreak they say
is the highest price to pay
debts of quarters as the clock hand moves.
you won’t stay
you won’t stay
for just once.
This is all I know of love and loss.
