STORY STARTER
A fairytale character is dropped into this world.
How do they react? What do they find most difficult?
The Enchanting Woods
As I slowly start to wake from my sleep, I am startled by a man staring gazing down on me.
“Who are you? What day is it? Where am I?” I start frantically asking. The last thing I remember is eating an apple. An apple given to me by the sweet, old lady.
“I am Daniel, it is November 14 and you’re in the middle of the Big Thicket forest. I’m out here deer hunting and I saw you sleeping here so I covered you up with my blanket to keep you warm. You looked so peaceful and sweet that I felt the urge to kiss you on the forehead. I never seen anything like what I just saw. When I kissed you all the leaves around you started flying around, the wildlife went crazy and you woke up.”
“What year is it Daniel?” I ask as my stomach grumbles.
“Ma’am, it is 2015.” He says with a strong accent I don’t recognize. It’s been 300 years since I fell asleep... how is that possible. That apple must have been poisoned.
“Where did you say I was?” I ask again. My head is pounding like I was just hit with a stone.
“Big Thicket forest ma’am. The big, beautiful, enchanting forest of Texas. Why don’t we go back to the city and get you looked at?” Daniel starts fumbling to grab his gear.
I sit up “Daniel, do you have something to drink?” He hands me a bottle of water. It says Spring Water. Was it bottled in spring or from a stream? What’s the nearest city? How much has the world changed since I fell asleep?
Daniels face looks worrisome, “ma’am, are you feeling okay? You look like you might get sick?”I nod as I’m sipping the water. “What were you doing out here by yourself? And what is upper name?” He asks.
“My names Snow White and I live out here.”
