Chapter one Spell Binding:
Ring-ring-ring my alarm went off and I rolled out of bed. I took one sniff and “Midnight chocolate chip blueberry pancakes!” I yelled out.
As I ran down stairs I saw grandma in the kitchen. And what do you know my favorite.
“Hey sweetie!” Grandma anounsed “Happy Birthday!”
“Thanks grandma!” I said through gritted teeth. I knew what happy birthday means an other day wandering why my parents got on that plane.
I hpped in the car and saw a peculiar looking book that on the front read “Book of Bigginer Spells”
“Uh grandma?” I asked. “Yes?” “What is this?” I asked.
“Oh! Nothing honey!” Her voice cracked as if she were to be hiding something.
I looked at her suspicious.
“ Oh we are here!” She said in relief.
“ Bye I guess.”
“ Bye sweetheart”
I walked up the stairs trying to kee my curly dirty blonde hair out of light brown eyes.
When I finally made it inside I saw Kelsie Clair. “Hey!” “Oh hey! happy birthday!”
“Thanks” I said through clenched teeth.
Our first class was my favorite… history.
This week we were learning about the Salem witch trials.
Today we learned about Tituba an Arawak brought in to Salem as a slave. She was known to be involved in voodoo like practices.
After class I saw Livey in the hall she look terrible. She had dark shadows under her eyes and was paler than usual. She was usually teasing some kid but right now she looked like she hasn’t slept in weeks.
I walked up to her and said softly “Are you okay?”
She looked at me like I was a bug that she wanted to squish and exclaimed “ Ew why are you talking to me freak!” And she walked away. I guess she will be mean even on bad days.
After school on the bus I told Kelsie about the curious book I saw. When I told her about the name she was suddenly intrigued and started asking me more questions not just about the book. She asked me how I think my parents died so I told her the truth a plane crash that’s what it has always been.
I finally stepped out into the cold wet December air and walked into my house.
I suddenly got struck by a horrible migraine so bad I couldn’t think. I started to get nauseous so I went into the kitchen to take medicine and drink some water.
Right before I could reach the kitchen I blacked out.
Chapter two: Lost
My face was freezing I couldn’t see anything. I had been like this for at least ten minutes my vision was slowly coming back but I could tell that something was different.
I could hear children crying and women screaming men were yelling accusations and pointing fingers. One thing in particular stood out to me. There was a woman standing behind all of the chaos her long black dress was dangling in the wind her dark wavy hair flowing down one side of her neck.
She was looking at me.
