Bigotry is defined as an “obstinate or unreasonable attachment to a belief, opinion, or faction, in particular prejudice against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular group.” It is a word that has torn the world apart. It has killed thousands of innocent lives on the basis of something as simple as who they are, and it is something that drives people to do or promote horrible things. Though there have been many social movements throughout many decades to end this, and though these movements have made significant progress, bigotry has not gone completely. It still exists and it may be a long time before the world becomes peaceful for good.

This is why I think bigotry should be the eighth deadly sin with its own special place in hell. It runs rampant, and unfortunately, it is one of the many truths about this cruel, harsh world. And when I am in charge of this domain, I will make sure the sinners regret what they’ve done.
