We’ve been everything from siblings

(not really)

to best friends

(supposedly)

to lovers

(unknowingly)

but we’ve never been just friends

Till now, I suppose

Now we’re more distant

But I’ll say this for you and no other boy

Because all the time I’ve known you I’ve known true joy

You’re so perfectly perfect,

It’s almost surreal

From your looks to your manners,

You have so much appeal

You love God and your mother

(I’ve had trouble with the latter)

You care for everyone around you,

No differences matter

Yet people treat you poorly

When you’re twice they’ll ever be

So here’s a poem just for you

(You deserve it more than anybody)

Thank you for being amazing

And thanks for being my friend

I know I’m always ghosting

But I hope you’re here to the end

So as you sail across the seven seas,

Come whatever may,

Know that you will always be,

I have **never** been so excited to answer a prompt. The subject matter of this poem is someone I will always love, be it as a lover or a friend and now I finally have a way to express that. I’m tryna not sound _too_ happy ‘cause it doesn’t fit my internet persona but I am ESTATIC.
