POEM STARTER

Submitted by Robin Marlowe

Write a poem about unseasonable weather. e.g. A warm day in the winter, or snow in the summer.

Sebastian

A gray day in summer reminds me of you

Soft, nostalgic fog I can see right through

Electric air, a heavenly glow

Getting to know you, then letting you go

Stay in bed until noon just to listen to rain

Grieve our little love more than I can explain

In the eye of the storm, blessed or cursed

Less afraid of death because you went first

Pleading for you to visit my dreams

As warm June rain fills up oceans and streams

I can feel your presence in this magic, misty dawn

Seasons keep passing even though you’re gone

(In memory of Sebastian, 2017-2024)
