My name is Dandelion, or should I say was? I was relentlessly abused by my birth mother and stepfather. They believed I was a demon and needed to be exorcised out of their “poor baby girl.” The truth was, my stepfather was the demon. He had gigantic demon-like horns, along with red pasty skin, almost as if he had been burned alive. “None of this would had happened if dad was still here,” I mutter as my mother continues to torment me. Mother had always been so kind when dad was here, she was the one being controlled by the demon; I need a way to tell her that I am still the same, the same baby girl she had been seen taking care of, the same baby girl who she had played dolls with. I had noticed a vile of a liquid labeled “POISON…PLEASE USE WITH EXTREME CAUTION…” I grabbed the vile of the poison as fast I could and quickly scurried upstairs, making sure nobody saw me. I start to write the note, the note that would finally make mother aware of the demon that was my stepfather. I hear his voice behind my locked door as I continue to write. His banging, getting louder and louder, soon causing the entire house to shake. I finally finish the note, hid it in my drawer, and drank the poison as soon as the demon walked in. The note stated, “What’s wrong with a little poison? I just took a sip…I’m sorry mother, but I cannot put up with the demon in the house anymore. He was making me live through hell, and making you assist with his evil deeds. Love: Your baby girl Dandelion <3.”
