WRITING OBSTACLE

Create a dialogue scene between an artist and their muse.

The Contract

“You will do what needs to be done. I am your muse. You know how this works.”

“B-But, I can’t do what you are asking. There must be another way to get my inspiration. Please, I’ll do anything.”

“You must do what is asked. There is no other way.”

“I can’t murder someone.”

“You signed the contract, you knew how this would work. Did I not explain the requirements for this relationship?”

“Yes, but-“

“No! You understood what would be asked of you before you signed the contract. I would be your muse, your creative inspiration, and in return, you would do what I asked. No matter the cost.”

“But, murder? I’ll go to jail. I can’t kill someone.”

“You will receive no punishment, this is also in your contract. Only if you complete the task, if not, need I remind you of the repercussions?”

“My life.”

“Indeed. Now what will you choose? Eternal creative inspiration, or your life? The choice is yours.”
