WRITING OBSTACLE

Start a story with a syllogism.

A syllogism is a rhetorical device that makes use of deductive thinking. It usually follows the format of ‘A is B. B is C. So A is C.’ An example may be: Killing is evil. An assassin kills people. So an assassin must be evil.

Curiosity

All cats are curious.

My cat is a cat.

Therefore, my cat is curious.

One day, my cat was exploring the backyard when he came across a strange object. It was a small, round ball with a hole in the middle. My cat had never seen anything like it before, so he was very curious. He sniffed it, batted at it with his paws, and even tried to bite it. But he couldn't figure out what it was.

Just then, a dog came running into the backyard. The dog was much bigger than my cat, and he was very excited to see the new animal. He started barking and jumping around, trying to play with my cat. But my cat was too scared to move. He just crouched down and hid behind the strange object.

The dog eventually gave up and went away. But my cat was still scared. He didn't know what the strange object was, and he didn't know what the dog would do if he came back. So he stayed hidden behind the object until he was sure that the dog was gone.

When my cat finally came out from behind the object, he saw that it was a birdhouse. A bird had built a nest inside the birdhouse, and there were three baby birds inside. My cat had never seen baby birds before, and he was fascinated.
