Desperate for a breakthrough

A reason to breathe with ease again

At peace only for a minute or two

The facade is hell to maintain

Who knew life could come

In so many shades of hurt

A blessing it is to feel numb

Channel it into my art, to divert

Allow myself the aid I crave

Let my hope be forever prominent

Urge my weary soul to be brave
