POEM STARTER
Submitted by Cheyenne King
Describe a moment in life which seems to last forever.
You could write this as a poem or story, or as a descriptive paragraph.
Ya Know That
My brother Jesse’s in the throne room and he’s down on his knees
In life he never cared for worship
But now he’s whipping all the angels
The sweet and the loud
He always did need a crowd
In fact I’d almost swear
It was an orchestral frenzy
I know, they will all be very tired
Hoarse and sickening
Tried and tread
Treated by me , ya know
Those that haven’t yet been
Tempered or tempted or even
Noticed by the course of events
That is set up to change everything
By just a shade of who or what or when
The unassuming possibility of who they
Could question to be, ya know that
I still get bamboozled by golden curls and a love of the sea
Though I know it’s gonna burn me
I just can’t get enough of that
Sweet china tea
Golden and clearly
Steeped in notions of
Divining wet tears, beautiful
Surely these are more prophetic than
The most potent potion of earthly leaves
And I do believe in miracles
So with every sip I say a prayer
God somehow please make me clean
I tried the clay and mud the sun
Plain alabaster Alabama breeze
Everything seems to be getting good
Action when you finally get the
Goggles off you realize it doesn’t
Even matter that you need them to see
Thank love for the next day
Remember to care
Those you’ve lost, the ones you have
The ones you promised to share
So long as you care equally you need not
Worry now, or come so far
That you’ve lost even the faintest
Hint of who and what you’ll be
After supper cuz your too busy coloring
Spangles in the air
With lightning in the atmosphere
Your banged up guitar
With pearls of pain C chords of rain
Just a fingerpicking G
For nothing but the love of it
Wisdom and just a notion of Far
Out and be
