POEM STARTER

Write a poem centred around the theme of guardian angels.

What could this mean to different people?

Safe Here

Here, in the holy hedge of protection of my Father

I am able to sleep.

Out there, the world can be vile and dangerous,

But I am no longer a lost sheep.

I am safe here.

Where, oh death is your sting?

It cannot reach me, not even the air I breathe

For I am covered under the Father’s wings.

Psalm ninety one, God’s word is said and done.

He has commanded His angels to take charge over me,

And they lift me up in their hands, where the enemy can’t see.

Here, in the Hidden place,

There is no evil, and of darkness not a trace.

In this heavenly home I learn of God’s love that outnumbers the sand,

And as I sleep, an angel smiles and holds my hand.

For I am God’s child, deserving of joy and grace filled days of cheer.

Satan can no longer lie to me.

He is in fear, because I know who I am.

I am safe here.
