POEM STARTER
Inspired by The Author
Write a poem ending with the phrase 'Never again'.
Nunca Más
You were miles away, but still so near,
In every text, in every call I’d hear.
We weren’t official, but damn it felt so real.
I let myself believe what you’d never feel.
You stayed up late, said all the RIGHT things,
Called me “baby”, talked about dreams.
I built a future from your late-night tone,
While you were just bored, or just alone.
I never touched you, never held your hand,
But somehow, I still had trouble trying to stand.
You weren’t mine—not really, not true—
But I gave you pieces I don’t give to just anyone new.
You acted like more, more than your part,
Like you _almost_ cared.
I clung to the silence when you weren’t there.
What hurt the most wasn’t when it fell through—
It’s knowing I was never anything to you.
No title. No closure. Just fading in pain.
Loving someone who never planned to stay.
Loving someone from a distance,
who never planned to meet me halfway…
**Never again.**
