POEM STARTER
Fire and Flames
Write a poem where fire is the central theme, whether this be physical or a metaphorical burning.
Suppression
You, only you
What I would give, for it to only be us two
In the whole world, alone
No one in sight
So I just might
Get to say how I feel
Some might say it’s wrong
It’s not my fault I want to sing you love songs
Or write you poetry
It’s confusing, I must admit
But to you, I would commit
Always.
In your eyes, I see fire, warm and clear
With you, everything else disappears
You give me breath
Embarrassed, my face burns when you look
My heart you took
I know it sounds clique
But how it kills me that I pretend
That I only see you as a friend
So they don’t know
They can’t find out
That in my mind, there is no doubt
That you are my life
You are addictive, giving me the pain of a flame
How should I be to blame?
For falling
You, and only you.
I think I always knew.
The only question is, do you too?
Will there ever be an us?
Or must
It stay as just me. And just you?
