STORY STARTER

Submitted by Quill To Page

Write a story where people are limited to only three lies in their lifetime.

Is your protagonist about to use up their first, or maybe their last?

Lies

Walls closing in,

Breathing shallowed,

This is what Their lying words bring,

Glassy eyes and faces that seem hollowed.

3 is sentenced to be the lucky number,

But what if luck is a myth,

What if it is a mythical wonder,

Delusional like a drunken bliss?

Everyone protests,

3 is a number too slim,

Forces words that never need to be confessed.

But why do people need to lie,

Need to betray,

Talk words of nothing and make others cry?

My lie limit is full to the brim,

I won’t use them,

I won’t hurt him,

But it makes my eyes widen,

The thought of needing to say something thats not,

And no guilt following,

No remorse is got,

Why do people need to protest,

Why do they need to lie,

To the ones closest?

More lives gone,

More lies spill,

I wish I knew if I could trust anyone.
