STORY STARTER
Submitted by Just Another Teenage Girl✍️
All this time I thought he was the villain, but as I watched the blood drip from my fingertips, I realised it was all a matter of perspective...
Sealed
All stories are about perspective and this one was no different, it started the same, Powerful antagonist holds strong willed fiery female protagonist until she forms a rebellion all the while lulling the evil brooding antagonist into a false sense of victory.
‘And there is me’
This shadow with eyes, wearing boring clothing, vanishes into a crowd. the “anti” let's call him that it’s shorter than that other word. Anyway, I was invisible to all and everybody in this game of cat and mouse with these moves of bluffs and double bluffs.
During all this postering and drama, I had amassed a collection of tricks, weapons and sleight of hands that on the surface made me look and sound weak. But that just sealed “Anti’s” fate.
He had subdued our fiery female into a battle to the death, she lay crestfallen in the rain (ya know for dramatic effect), he let her go in another show of so called mercy.
This was tiring, he was weak, so I caught him smiling in the aftermath of his “triumph” that would surely conclude in another story.
He hadn’t heard me, snuck up on him, unsheathed a dagger (the hero’s blacksmith owed me a favour), twirled it for effect, lunged and lodged it into his back where his neck ended and his spine began.
I heard blood gargle from his throat and he spat as I severed his neck from his spine and he fell forward and hit the concrete with a wet thud, a pool of crimson spread from his corpse.
I smiled, I will leave the body here so our hero can find it and their journey will be over, you know because I saved the day and all.
I had returned to my day to day life, i found out that our hero had discovered the “anti’s” body shortly after i killed him and sent out a bounty for the one who murdered him, because in my narrow vision had not found out that “anti” was the hero’s long lost sibling, she shouted about it and vowed to kill the one who did this.
“And that was me”, vision blurred and single minded. I had unwittingly made myself the “Anti”, when all I foresaw was my heroism and my saving of the day.
“Oh well, evil rises and fills the gap where the once evil fell”
