We had a bond back then, me and my friends, connected in such a way that it made us feel - or at least made me feel - like i was connected to something greater than myself.

I am talking of something that, no matter what, has you feeling happy, gleeful even, that such a thing exists, a thing that instills within you hope and bravery and contentment.

I admit it was indeed gleeful, the times spent around those of which I grew into a man with, and though now we might only see one another once in a blue moon - which I myself have never seen - I know in my heart that chain that bound us still binds us even now.

Now, I venture the world - although sometimes I admit this transforms into a misadventure - and my thoughts often turn to them, those people, those friends, those family that I faced life’s early challenges with.

I contemplate what they are doing, what experiences they are experiencing, what stage of life’s rollercoaster that they happen to be on and where it is that coaster could or will eventually stop.

It’s a funny thing, being connected, it sort of transcends time and space, and even emotion, to the point that it must be, at the very least, a partial reflection of the love that we have for ourselves.

Allow yourself then, to consider which of these ‘life’s connections’ you possess, and dare yourself to share those which have you feeling gleeful despite being separated.

I challenge you to write your view, your standpoint on such things, and I shall look forward to reading those of which are writings and reflections of the human condition of such fellowships.

True friendships, in my view, are like rivers separated from the ocean, they might not be connected to the naked eye, but the waves are as much a reflection of their bond as talking, or memories are to you or I.

Go then now and write, and tell me of a time when being connected made you feel gleeful, and the result of being separated, and I shall wait here with watchful eyes and patient manner, if only for an undefined period of time.
