POEM STARTER

β€˜Dawn still rises, slowly, stubbornly.’

Write a poem with a consistent structure, concluding with this line. You can choose any style for your poem, but it should be one that employs a consistent structure.

Night-Heart

We crawled through the night,

Clawed our way out of midnight.

Worshipped the crescent moon,

The day coming nothing but a cocoon.

Our dreams sowing the darkness,

Nightmares at the edge of our consciousness.

Rest is only for the weak,

And the newest day they do seek.

The ink black of the twilight wishes for deliverance,

And demons in my chest go for one last dance.

I will only pray for a new day,

Just to keep them at bay.

Dawn still rises, slowly and stubbornly,

The cloud surrounding the moon now lonely.

We bask on the cusp of a new life,

Drying away a black heart and strife.

I love you baby πŸ–€
