STORY STARTER

While on a first date, you begin to realise that the person you’re seeing is actually someone you used to know. But now they seem very different…

The Stranger I Always Knew

Have you ever received a random text message from someone? Someone you couldn’t pinpoint and did not want to be identified? I am sure you have, and so have I, but what made these messages different was how thoughtfully and flirtatiously curated they were, to the point where I look forward to them every single day.

After a month of conversing with this mystery person, we finally decided to take it up a notch and coordinate our first date. He insisted on taking charge of the planning, my only task was to show up. When I arrived at the agreed location, I quietly told the host that I am meeting someone on a date, someone that I honestly didn’t know and kindly asked her to watch for cues to ensure I stayed safe. The host showed me to my table, and would you believe who was sitting there? It was the guy I had a crush on all throughout college.

He had really changed. The person texting me was bold, wild and quite intriguing while the man I remembered from college was always reserved and not nearly as expressive. As we caught up I could feel his eyes tracing every curve of my body as though he was undressing me in his mind. I was wearing a black bandage dress that hugged my hip and waist so tight, they were both begging to be released. My cleavage was fiercly plumped from wearing one of Victoria’s Secret best kept secret push up bra. I knew I was making an impression on him and I knew this could also be my last chance to win his heart over and what better way to do this than through appearance, hygiene and great conversations.

He wasn’t looking too bad himself, in fact he looked more handsome than I remembered. I found myself blushing at every word that came from his mouth. His teeth were whiter than snow, his smile radiated the room and he gave me butterflies in my stomach. Part of me wanted to cut the date short to finally materialize my college day fantasies that I have carried for so many years.
