Tho my journey thus far had been long and grewsome, allowing me to shed my fears along the way. Once my party arrived at the river Styx all i felt was certainty. The core of myself was calmed for the first time in centuries.

Swinging down from my hourse I handed my cloak off to my maid, as i approached the riverbank i kicked my shoes aside. The water was warm and had a strong scent of death. Sinking my feet into the sand I released a shiver, relaxing into place to await my other self. Not long now.

The mirror appeared gradually, swimming up out of the depths of the water. Watching the process i began once again to imagine what it was my other self would look like. It had been an age since we had split, one to rule the heavens and one to care for the dead.

The mirror was almost fully ascended. Taking a few more steps forward i leaned in closer, the glass was cool to the touch and it sent a shock through me to feel it, would she feel the same? The image slowly cleared, her face slowly coming into view.

Her image finally cleared and i released a breath I didn’t realize i had been holding. She looked almost exactly the same as the day we split apart, becoming two separate entities.

Her dark green eyes sparkled, her wicked grin telling me all i needed to know about her plan. We would need to rejoin. Becoming one flesh in order to bring piece to the common land of the living once more.

The Dark and the Light would need to join, to mix and revel in the magic that had been bled out of them all these millennia.

I grinned, holding my flaming claws out through the vail of the mirror, my other self reached forth too, her slender, impossibly dainty fingertips merging together with my own.

We had had to separate for the good of the three kingdoms once, the small men were too frightened of us then, Now it seemed they had decided they no longer needed our laws.

They would soon see the error they had made.
