(Just some fluff about Halloween costumes)

“What are you going as for Halloween?” Jeremiah asks.

Everyone is lounging about in his casa. It seems to be a meeting place since his mamá loves them all like they are her own.

He knows how lucky he is. Having seen Roman’s home life and Bell’s complicated family, he has come to recognize the beauty in the peace. Mamá is the best.

Even though he probably has one of the smallest casas, it is the most welcoming.

“Jones and I are going to be the Light Fury and Toothless,” Lou says, her grande grin giving her away with how excited she is. “Because if dragons were real, I would want a Toothless.”

“I’m obviously the Light Fury,” Jones clarifies, a teasing tone in his voice.

Halloween is pronto. Their school lets them dress up in costumes and basically not do nada on the holiday.

Jeremiah likes seeing the costumes.

People get to express themselves and what they like. It feels like everyone shares his excitement, even just for a día.

“Musa from Winx,” Bell answers.

“Will Cross be Riven?” Ria questions, her head lolling to the side, her eyebrow raising towards Cross.

“I doubt that,” Jeremiah voices with a laugh. Cross is totally differente than Cross. It would almost be a crime for him to dress as the Specialist. “How do you even know who the characters are?” Tharen asks.

“Because I have a little hermana who is obsessed with fairies and mermaids and most fantasy creatures.”

“Nah, not my vibe. I’m going as a superhero,” Cross answers.

“Oh, which one?” Amelie implores, her head tilted, her interest evident. Jeremiah almost forgot how Amelie watches almost as much Marvel as Cross and Bell and Roman do.

He shrugs, and says, “The reveal will come tomorrow.” He is being mysterious about it. Jeremiah bets he’ll probably be an all Americano hero like Cap. While it would be easy to guess a superhero that has telekinesis, Cross emulates a righteous guy like Steve Rogers.

Jeremiah doesn’t really know todo of the lore. He really only watches when Roman is.

Tharen leans forward in his seat, clearly interested, “Ooh a superhero can’t reveal his identity. That’s the saying, isn’t it?”

“I think it’s a magician never reveals his secrets, but yours work too,” Roman gently corrects with a smile.

Tharen is an bueno addition to the amigo group. Jeremiah absolutely loved Liam and Tharen seems to really care for him. So that makes him good in Jeremiah’s libro.

“What about you guys,” Cross questions, his head directed towards Ria and Amelie who are looking pretty cuddly on the couch. Jeremiah wonders if they aren’t announcing anything official for a reason or they just don’t need a label.

Either way, they are awesome together and he is feliz for them.

“I’m going as Misty from the Pokemon anime,” Ria says. “I can definitely pull off redhead.” She flicks her hair over her shoulder which is a dyed ginger, naranja color for Halloween. Amelie nods in agreement to her statement.

“I love Pokemon!” Lou exclaims. “I want all of them as real animal friends!”

They all chuckle at her excitement. Jeremiah agrees though. His favorite are the grass types. Pero he might be biased.

“Jubilee,” Amelie answers. “She should have had actual scenes in the x-men movies.” Jeremiah has no idea who that is, but if Amelie gusta the character, she must be cool.

“Speaking of superheroes, we are going as iconic superheroe siblings,” Zac interjects. Him and Liam are grinning at one another. Liam told Jeremiah before that they were planning matching costumes. “Tornado twins?” Cross guesses.

Liam shakes his head, face ducked typing on his telefono. “Nope, try again.”

“Shang Chi and Xialing?” Bell tries. There’s a hopeful tone in her voice. Probably because she raves about that movie and how it is underrated.

Roman raises his hand and says, “Human Torch and Invisible Woman——Man?” Superhero names are so strange to Jeremiah. They are self explanatory which helps, but what kind of names are Human Torch and Invisible Woman?

Seeing everyone struggle, Zac hints, “They’re recent.” Amelie immediately appears to get it because she straightens in her lounging position. “Oooh, Wiccan and Speed.”

Liam nods enthusiastically, confirming her guess.

She pumps her arm in victory.

He just knows everyone’s costumes will be sick! Sure he doesn’t know who all of these characters are, but that doesn’t matter. His blood is pumping and he can feel the plants all around his home growing greener with his excitement. “Roman and I are matching too! Two horror icons.”

Ria hits her leg with an audible noise in what Jeremiah thinks is pretend annoyance. “Darn, I was going to say genderbent Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn.”

Ay dios mío! That’s a good idea. He mentally makes a reminder to do that next year. He would be a perfect Pamela with his nature powers.

He unfortunately shakes his head to her guess.

“Please tell me you are going as Chucky and Megan?” Jones says. Roman groans and sets his head on Jeremiah’s shoulder. With his face lolling to the side to look at him, he mutters, “Shit, that would have been good!”

It is a good suggestion. He would be a great Megan. He even has a shirt that kinda looks like her dress. But Jones is muy close.

“We are going as Chucky and Tiffany. I’m Tiffany, obviamente,” Jeremiah reveals. Other than superheroes, Roman’s other genre of choice is horror. And Chucky happens to be his favorite franchise.

“Thats cool! Will you be in a wedding dress?” Tharen asks. “Maybe. You’ll have to wait to see.” The answer is yes—a short wedding dress, because he didn’t want the hem to drag on the ground.

Some might think it’s weird. Jeremiah doesn’t care. Roman was so excited to do a couples costume and Jeremiah is happy to see him happy. And who says only girls get to wear dresses?

“What are you going as Tharen? An animal, perhaps,” Lou questions. It’s a valid pregunta, especially since he is the only one that hasn’t said his outfit yet.

“I was gonna do Hulkling, because of Liam being Wiccan, but I’m not crazy about being green, so I’m not actually sure.”

“What?!” Everyone shouts at the same tiempo. Jeremiah’s ears ring at the loud volume of everyone combined.

Halloween is a big deal here. With soulmate powers, it provides easy or creative ways of representing characters or costumes. So Tharen not knowing is also a big deal.

They are going to have a pequeño Halloween party, just amigos. Mostly everyone in his casa right now with a few others sprinkled in.

He shrugs weakly, eyes shifting to each of their shocked faces, “I just don’t have a pull to anyone.”

“Can we come up with your costume then?” Ria asks.

“I don’t see why not. Just not something too involved,” he warns, which is fair. Halloween is pretty close. Not much time to get something together.

Immediately, Liam signs something to Zac which Jeremiah couldn’t catch with where he was sitting. He likes to think that his understanding of sign language is getting better. He can almost go whole conversations without speaking a single word.

Once Zac nodded and smiled, then Liam types on his phone and he says, “Kpop Demon Hunters.”

You would have thought something electrocuted certain people, because mucho of the people in the room jolt up. “OMG yes!” Bell exclaims.

“He’s definitely giving Saja Boy,” Amelie comments, feeding into this idea.

Jeremiah has a little hermana. Este has belted out these songs for the past couple semanas. He studies Tharen. He could probably pass for one now that Liam brought it up. He has the commercially attractive Asian thing down. Just add a few bright outfit components, and he could definitely be a Saja Boy.

“But which one?” Roman ponders out loud, rubbing his chin like he is genuinely thinking about this muy hard. “Jinu?” Jeremiah offers. It is the easiest option.

Cross shakes his head, “Too predictable.”

Lou, petting a gerbil, says, “I can’t contribute. All I know about the movie is the tiger and the crow.” Jeremiah has to do a double take at the animale in his home. When did she bring him in here?

He likes animals, they are a part of nature after all. But he can’t say that he is as into them as Lou is. No one can.

“Abby!” Jones spouts, very surprisingly so, since Jeremiah didn’t even think Jones had seen the animated movie. He had seemed quiet, so he assumed that he didn’t have anything to add.

Getting up from her chair, Bell moved closer to her half hermano. “Your hair is reddish already which is close enough if you don’t want to color it. You just need a yellow beanie!”

She shoves a picture of the Kpop Demon Hunter character in his face in case he didn’t know. “My dad has a shirt that looks surprisingly like that somewhere,” he says.

“Perfect!”

This is going to be a great Halloween. Jeremiah can just tell.

How could it go badly with his amigos?

(You can really tell my interests by what I had them dress as for Halloween. I almost had Bell be Silvermist. And Lou as Rapunzel with her lizard Greg as Pascal, but then decided she would want to be dressed as an animal.
