POEM STARTER
Mysteries of the Night
Whether something natural and beautiful like the stars, or something more sinister, write a poem that focuses on things that are most prominent at night.
The One Light On The Block
As the sun goes down
The bedtime books close
The dogs spin to find the right spot
Keys jiggle in the door
Day shifts end
Nights ones starts
That one house lights
Never turn off
Stars are hard to gaze
City lights are the new muse
The tv turns on
The radio click on
The canvas gets dusted off
Window open
Fan off
The night air
Just right
For some
The day just started
Some just ened
Potential can
Go to waste
Or noticed
The sun starts to peak out
Alarms go off
Showers turn on
Kids get woken up
But these lights
Dim
As does the potential
The covers pull back
Radio goes to static
And the canvas
With the same wasted energy.
One starts
As the other
Ends
