Write a horror story that includes this premise.
Boy In The Mirror
At a young age I was taught about spirits. I could never know if they actually existed unless I had seen one myself. In movies they were always portrayed as something horrifying, angry, or tragic. Spirits hung around bothering others when something bad that happened kept them trapped after death. Their pain and their misery. That's how the story usually goes anyways.
It could just be a bunch of folklore that doesn't actually exist. Except most humans have widely accepted this story about ghosts. People can feel the energy of another person. It's been told that this is also true when they are no longer alive. That we can still feel the energy they give off. I've always told myself if given the chance I would never want to see a spirit. I wouldn't want that kind of experience. I wouldn't know what I'd be getting myself into or if it were anything I could get myself out of.
Supposedly if you're dealing with a spirit these days, it means you're schizophrenic. Now I would hate to think that there was something wrong with me just because I was able to interact with something that others couldn't. All I know is that there is a lot of negativity involving these spirits but I'll never find out the truth about it. I'm not sure I'd want to know even though I do have a slight interest.
Is there solid evidence that it's something we all shouldn't be doing or is it just one big scare tactic so we never do? Would I just become someone who couldn't listen to what they were told? I was torn between keeping things a mystery and finding out for myself. Why not be the one to see for myself what exactly would happen?
I fell asleep early that night exhausted from my day. I woke up to hear knocking on glass. At first I thought it was coming from the window, then I realized it was coming from the mirror. I walked over and peaked my head slowly for a better view. I was not ready for what I saw. An impossible horrifying scene stood right in front of me. There was a little boy standing next to an older man in my mirror. I stood there silent and angry. They smiled at me with their hands up as if they were saying hello.
