POEM STARTER
Submitted by Shadow Queen
Where there is light, there is always a shadow close behind.
Use this line to start or end a poem.
Wife
Marry her off
To a good handsome man.
Make sure that he’s older
So he can protect her.
Don’t check his background
Only his hands.
Look for the stain
That he hides so well,
Trying hard
Not to ruin his name,
Trying hard
To bury that shame.
Is she worth two goats
Or just a pig?
Modern women
Aren’t worth two shits.
Carry her down your golden isle.
Kick’n and scream’n
Makes her more worth while.
She’s got blood in her eyes
She’s got blood on her dress
She’s got blood in her hair
She aint allowed to rest.
No women of his
Allowed to be seen throw’n a fit.
Lock her up in a white picket house.
Make her a mother
Make her a mouse.
Sweep’n dust’n keep on clean’n
Don’t put that broom down or he’ll be seath’n.
You better pleasure him good
Make sure he moans.
Take’n care of his aching bones.
Fake that smile
Fake those moans.
Make sure he thinks you love his choke.
You better be a good wife,
Always wanting more.
Other wise you’re just his mother fuck’n whore.
Slut,
Shameful,
Beg for it.
If you don’t want it
You’d better learn how to take it.
Bitch,
Slut,
Disrespectful mut.
Baby machine
You’d better pop ‘em out,
Other wise you aint worth more than a rock.
She keeps her head down
She knows better than to speak,
Wish’n she could cast her ballot
On her own body.
But that’s not how the system works,
She says, the Men all own me.
Once I had a dream,
And then he found me.
Where there’s a light
The shadow’s always close behind me.
I don’t dare to dream,
Not even for my daughter,
Cause I know her fate,
Just another lamb to slaughter.
