Submitted by Frankie Famighetti
Create an origin story for a common saying, such as 'break the ice' or 'once in a blue moon'.
Your story should explain how this expression came to be, and why it means what it does.
‘Break The Ice’
Betrayal and lies don’t just happen out of nowhere. There had to have been a sign or a warning to stand out that didn’t quite catch my eye. Something had changed with him. Something that I couldn’t explain. I had tried to simply talk to him, but he wouldn’t even look at me. He turned cold out of thin air. I had wished for him to ‘break the ice.’ To talk to me, and not be so cold, to tell me what was going on. But all that was said was how he had changed, and nothing could ever be the same.
