POEM STARTER

Write a Petrarchan Sonnet on the theme of Autumn.

A Petrarchan Sonnet has 14 lines; the first 8 must have a rhyme scheme ABBAABBA, the last 6 can have variable rhymes, but are normally split into 2 sets of 3 lines.

Autumn

In golden hues, the leaves gently fall,

A tapestry of colors, nature's art,

The crisp air whispers, a lover's call,

As autumn weaves its magic in each heart.

The sun sets earlier, the nights grow long,

Yet warmth lingers in the amber glow,

A symphony of nature's sweetest song,

As autumn's beauty continues to show.

The harvest moon shines bright in the sky,

Guiding us through the season's embrace,

A time for reflection, as days pass by,

In this tranquil and ever-changing space.

Leaves crunch beneath our feet as we stroll,

Hand in hand, through the park's winding trails,

The scent of bonfires fills the evening air,

As laughter and stories interweave like tales.

With each passing day, the world transforms,

As nature prepares for its winter's rest,

But the memories of autumn will endure,

A cherished season we'll always treasure best.
