The Two Sides Of Lucy
There was a time when the clouds felt endless —
When laughter hid behind quiet tears, and love meant giving pieces of yourself to people who never learned how to hold them gently.
But even then, something inside her glowed.
A soft defiance.
A spark that whispered ‘not forever’.
The storms came and went. The little girl who lost her way never truly disappeared — she waited, patiently, for the woman she’d become.
Now she stands between sunlight and rain, feet on the solid ground, with her mother, her sisters and her cats beside her — and the spirits of those she’s loved woven gently into the fabric of her heart.
Her eyes are greener now — clearer, wiser, freer.
She laughs easily, the kind of laugh that carries healing in its echo.
She doesn’t chase worth anymore; she lives it.
She no longer fears the dark — she’s walked through it and found her own lantern.
To the girl she once was, she says ‘take my hand’.
The road is rough, but what’s ahead is beautiful.
You are smart, capable, and whole.
You don’t need anyone to complete you, you were already whole.
And when the clouds gather again, she knows now: the rain won’t drown her — it will help her grow.
Because the sun and the rainbow were never gone; they were waiting for her to open her eyes and see them shine from within herself.
Where there is light, there is always a shadow close behind —
But now she knows how to dance with both.
