Write a story that begins with a character(s) surrendering.

Think about the meanings of the word surrender; this doesn't just have to be about a physical conflict.

Surrendered Love

How could she allow herself to get into such a mess? What was so different about him? She surrendered the entirety of her freedom to this man. She felt whole with him, like she could truly be herself around him. She didn’t know that loving him would come with such a price to pay.

Somehow this man had caused her to fall so deeply in love with him, that she gave up everything she worked so hard for. Everything that made her, well Her. She gave up her job, her friends, and even her mother to be with a man who would make her feel so isolated when she was by herself, but feel like she had the whole world when it’s just the both of them.

He wooed her and made her feel like the only girl in the world. Convinced her to move halfway across the country just to be with him. He swore to take care of her with all he had, and he did, but alone she felt like it wasn't enough. He treated her like a queen, and gave her everything she asked for. He just asked that she only ever be his. She had to give all of her time to him. He had to be her world, as he made her his.

Some days she wondered exactly why she did it. She remembered how charismatic he was. His way with words. It wasn’t about the money, or at least not at first. Yes, it was nice to be courted by a man with so much when she, herself, grew up with little to nothing. She had to work hard for everything she ever got. Every penny she ever had was because she worked to the bone for it.

She often wondered what her life would be like if she had never even met him. Would she and her mother still be living in their one bedroom apartment together? Is her mother okay? She missed her mother greatly. She thought about giving up everything he gave her, but that meant she would have to surrender again.
