The Last Wish
My doctor had told me my tumor had gotten progressively worse. And nobody, but my doctor and I knew that I was dying.
I had one wish, and it was for Andrew, the guy on the football team to fall in love with me.
I am a sophomore in college and he’s a senior, making him 2 years my senior.
I decided not to tell my parents that I was dying. I felt as when I die, it will be like a bandage being ripped off, rather than having the lingering pain of grief from my parents.
I was walking in the hallway and saw Andrew. I was mesmerized by his gorgeous face.
“Hi Andrew, I just wanted to tell you that I love you, and that i’m dying. Oh and that i’d love to kiss you.” I mumbled to myself.
As I looked up, I saw Andrew in front of me, and dropped my notebooks.
He noticed that I dropped them and picked it up for me.
“Here you go.” Said Andrew, as he handed me my books.
I let out a nervous laugh, hoping he didn’t hear what I just had said.
“T-Thank you.” I said while stuttering.
“You’re Ivy, right?” Andrew, asked.
“Yes, how do you know my name?” I replied
“You’re part of the track team, everyone knows the people who play sports. Especially you, you’re a really great runner.” Andrew, replied.
“Oh, Thank you.” I said, my cheeks beginning to turn red.
He looked at me, smiling.
“Here’s my number, in case you want to train or something with me.” He said, nicely.

A few months go by and they’ve been incredible.
Andrew had finally asked me to be his girlfriend. But now it was time to share my secret.
“Andrew.” I said as I was fidgeting with my hands.
He came up to me, noticing that I was feeling uneasy about something.
“What’s wrong?” He asked.
“I-“ I sigh
“I have to tell you somethi-“ Just as I was about to finish my sentence I collapsed on the floor.
Andrew caught me just in time and called the paramedics immediately.
I woke up and saw that I was in a hospital bed and gown.
“Hi.” Andrew said softly.
“I was so worried about you.” Said Andrew as he hugged me.
I smiled softly.
“How come you never told me about your tumor?” He asked, gently.
“I’m sorry, I was waiting for the right time.” I sighed.
“It’s okay, you’re safe now.” Andrew reassured me.
And as he said those words, I slowly drifted into a long sleep, never to wake.
Andrew had given me my last wish.
