“Why did you kill her!?”
“Because she was hunting what you needed.”
Write a story which includes this dialogue.
I Though You Hated Me.
(Vampires? Potentially, if that’s what you would like to consider this, I’m not even sure, tbh I was just writing to write…per usual. LOL, spooky season = maybe spooky writing. :) But enjoy!)
Story:
Kacey’s eyes were wide, staring at Sev who stood before her.
“Why did you kill her?!” Kacey asked, more in disbelief than scared, and Sev just smiled slightly.
“Because…she was hunting what you needed,” Sev said simply, pulling a blood-red crystal out and presenting it to the woman as he put down the bloodied blade.
“…take this as…a way of me protecting you. Protecting your one way to live like a normal person, the one step to the cure for your body's strange….dislike of light.” Sev explained, the smile never leaving his face.
“I thought you hated me. You tried killing me not even two days ago.” Kacey pointed out, her red eyes narrowing.
“It’s in my job description, I had orders. I also…went against those said orders for you and got fired from the business…so…would you like this crystal or…” Sev paused, closing his fist around it.
“…would you like me to burn it into dust then no one will ever have it…and I killed that girl for no good reason?” Sev continued, tilting his head, his voice lowered slightly with the threat disguised as a question, his hand already starting to glow orange, flames threatening to emerge, his eyes narrowed in focus.
Kacey acted quickly, prying his hand open, snatching the crystal.
“I’ll take it.” She said quickly, holding the crystal close to her.
Sev chuckled, “As I thought you would…” he said, his hand returning to normal.
A silence fell between the two, the room dark because of the blackout curtains.
“You know, a thank you would be-“ Sev started his sarcastic comment but Kacey interrupted.
“Thank you.” She said in unison.
Sev blinked, surprised.
She actually said thank you.
She seemed genuine too.
“Oh- you’re, um-“ he shifted, clearing his throat.
“You’re welcome..” he said.
Kacey smiled slightly, she then pocketed the crystal.
Now she could finally have a way to go outside and not burn. She actually can enjoy fresh air like anyone else does.
