Beneath The Willow Tree
Beneath the willow you will find,
The spot where we’d lay entwined.
Where I vowed softly, to never leave.
The grass still warm, on that August eve.
Laying under the star covered sky,
We thought that our love could never die.
As years went by, our devotion grew.
I prayed Earth would stop, just for us two.
But time wouldn't stop, and it wouldn’t slow.
I left before you, with a heart full of woe.
I watched from the shadows as you fell apart.
Gone missing that day, was the beat of my heart.
But you wandered back to that old tree.
As if you knew that’s where I’d be.
Beneath the willow you will find,
The woman that I left behind.
Yet she's not alone. For I am there too.
Our love is eternal, and forever its new.
Beneath the willow you will find,
Where I’ll wait for you, for all of time.
