The Elected
God elected two moons here
One was of night and black, dark velvet
The other light and courageous, strong and proud
These two moons were the exact same in composition, and seen opposite to each other
At the peak of the moonshire, many eons of people would sit in admiration, sometimes mourning
The sound of animals and the howl of their spirit was heard here, reverberated to the bottom canopy where tents and vendors would idle to watch the moons phase bemongst each other
Famous pieces of art were created, in this world a heart was signified in the symbol of two moons
Moons chasing each other represented longing, Waining moons were for lost love, and full moons were _Eros, _fresh, non-permanent love.
The world was bounding in love, in love with itself even with a totality that permeated the world
And this is still true
But now a city is on the underpass of the moonshire, from a distance you can see the outlines and borders of electric life
Overtime, the air pollution overrode the sky, even from the very moonshire itself.
Sentences became statements, love became only a symbol. Actions were reactions.
The electric snake strangling the elected moons, was so beautiful.
It’s a diamond reptile, filled with new life,
Cold blooded.
But the moons never left, still meant what they meant, still flirted with each other, made passes, had conversation.
People still looked
I look at those moons today
And I recall a poem, lost to time, years ago. No author, no care.
I read
**_One day, these moons will stay their time
And they won’t leave when gone
The sky will cry, and fog becomes the cloud
The crowd will ask the serpent, “did you kill us,or usurp it?”
And the serpent will not answer, for death is never loud.
