POEM STARTER

Write a poem that starts in a cheerful, bright mood, but then reveals underlying anger or bitterness.
Waiting On me
To be loved is golden.
To be adored, to be chosen.
My windows are closed.
But, I left a door open.
I love love.
It keeps me going.
Yet, some days I feel like my door is closing.
I catch myself wondering if I should keep hoping.
I refuse to give up on love.
That means I’d give up on me.
I know that patience is a virtue,
I know that patience is key.
Yeah I get bitter, amongst the angst within me.
Yeah I grow angry, the more I crave intimacy.
But, then I remember that love is what I embody.
Love thrives inside of my entire body.
