The boy looked up at the strange black bird and wasn’t sure why his mum dragged him into an ally. She told him to be quiet and not to leave until she said so.

When she thought the coast was clear she stepped out and motioned for the boy to join her, but the boy continued to look up at the bird that was hovering behind his mother.

“It’s okay darling it’s safe now.”

The boy pointed up at the bird and the woman looked around in horror before swiftly being swept away by a speeding bus.

The boy stood stoic as the bird cawed down at him before flying away out of sight, but never out of mind.
