POEM STARTER

Write a poem about a game.

This could be literal, metaphorical, or symbolic of a greater meaning.

Your Game

Many pieces like chess

Many dice rolls like a board game

I'm fairly unimpressed

Because it's always just the same

You said I was your Queen

But that is questionable

A conversation with you was a roll of the dice

Snake eyes were inevitable

I never seem to win with you

I always manage to lose

But then you'll ask for a rematch

And I simply cannot refuse

You promise to me that you've changed

But you're just the same player

When you beat me, I cry every night

And hope God heard my prayers

When your sick of the same old game

I go back into the closet

Where I collect dust, and who is to blame

When you pull me back out, and promise

Those filthy words...

When will you learn to quit?!

You chose to play a game with me...

But this time I'll show you how I end it.
