STORY STARTER

Time keeps randomly stopping around you, and you think it is you who is doing it. Then one night you are at a party, and time stops. Everyone is frozen, except one person at the other end of the room...
Freeze and Unfreeze
I can freeze time. Sounds fake, I know.
But truly, I can. I just have not figured what has triggered it yet. Time stops at random time, random places. It seems I can never grasp the control of it nor the works of. I cannot stop time with my hands or my thoughts or through will. Nothing works. I even tried counting the days and hours until the next time-stop period and still, no pattern.
At least, I thought I could freeze time.
As the flickering lights of the colorful disco ball shine on the crowd of dancing people, all with a red plastic cup in hand, I feel the euphoria rushing through me. I move my arms above my head, careful not to slosh my drink around, until, everyone stops.
I peek open an eye to see my bestfriend unmoving. I groan.
“This always happens at the worst times!” I stomp a foot down, crossing my arms as I take a swig of my drink. I wasn’t sure what to do now. I’m sure the host wouldn’t mind if I took a little… peek around.
But, as I turn my head to the entryway door, I see someone. He wasn’t moving, but he was staring directly at me. Shivers ran through my body at the uncanny feeling.
He was clad in a basic outfit, one I wouldn’t thought meant for a party. A pair of basic black jeans and a cloudy grayish-blue t-shirt. His brunette hair was tousled and his eyes… his brown eyes had more emotion swirling in them than I have ever seen for a man whose meant to be frozen in place. He was quite ravishing, to say the least.
Suddenly, his mouth began to move.
“Darcella,” my name flies out into the air, making me jump. He talked. The man by the doorway can talk.
“Didn’t mean to inconviencd you.” He lightly jokes but I’m too petrified and perplexed with shock and bewilderment I do not laugh with him.
“I have spent _years_ trying to find you.” The man began to come close. I drop my drink, the cup clattering in the eerie silence. I take a step back. In all my years of living, I have never seen someone who could… withstand the freezing of my time. It was so odd. Maybe he was the one that could disable it? Perhaps he’s just like me? But, it cannot be… it makes no sense.
“Who are you? Don’t come any closer!” I yelp, hiding behind my bestfriend frozen in time. Her face decorated with a smile so wide it made me wish I knew how to unfreeze it on command.
“Adelio, I can freeze time.”
I laugh at this. A loud, raucous laughter. He only stares. But, as my shrilling laughs begin to fade away, I never thought it possible that it could not be me who stops time, but someone else. I mean… I cannot control it nor can I figure what triggers it.
“I can see the gears clicking,” he chuckles lightly. “You, my dear one, can unfreeze time.” His words make my chest stop that I almost had lingering suspicions he paused time on me.
“We would make a great team. What do you say?”
