POEM STARTER
Paper boats, the scent of lemons, and tears.
Use these descriptors as inspiration for a poem.
Citrus Memories
Her eyes lit up as we sent them on their way,
Little paper boats on a river in May,
I sat by her side near the water that day,
I still know my lap as where her head lay
This moment is one that I wish I could keep,
The last few remnants of a sweet spring breeze,
The way I could walk and skip with such ease
And the very faint scent of young lemon trees
Now I sit by myself once May’s already came,
Send a small paper boat with a candle’s lit flame,
**Wish that scent of lemon trees had just stayed the same**
And know that my tears aren’t where I place blame
