POEM STARTER
Submitted by Susan Santizo
Write a poem about a place which makes you feel nostalgic.
You can write in any style or genre, but keep this as the central theme.
Rooms : Periods
The first took place
in a large, open space
Where some kids would jump and yell
While others, find a nice corner to sit and attempt to memorize
the anatomy of a cell.
The second would change
On every alternating day
Either bow a piece
Or try to finish a cross examination with ease
The third, I’ll never forget
For now I can live without regrets
Knowing no Spanish is true
But that’s okay if it was in exchange for knowing you.
The fourth I may have endured the most pain
But thankful am I for the change
As I hope to remember these memories with you all
Till the day I finally fall
The fifth started out quite flat
But after it was with you I sat
I learned how diverse people can be,
And a new face in everyone I began to see
The sixth offered a break
And I chose to relax for my own sake
Not many friends, but I remember those few days
The ones that will always stick out to me in so many ways
The seventh and last
Always went by far to fast
And I’m so incredibly grateful to say
That these were the days for which I’d pray.
